Rugeley Medical Centre

Project Brief: The project involved the construction of a new surgery for a four GP practice as well as a pharmacy shell unit and expansion space for the future growth of the services offered within the centre.

As well as providing traditional GP services the centre was designed to provide a range of children’s services and the design of the building had to reflect this.

Project Summary:

The centre was completed in 2008 and provided a modern, attractive, environmentally friendly building which suited the needs of the local community.

The sustainable and environmentally friendly elements of the building included a 50kW photovoltaic installation on the roof and an air source heat pump heating and cooling system.

As well as the GP services and Pharmacy, other services which are currently provided from the centre include social services, health education, diabetes care, children’s life long learning, a 4-11’s team, school nurses, vulnerable children services and speech/language therapy.
